Mediterranean Goodness

FotorCreated food event

It’s been a couple weeks since launching our Summer 2015 Collection and we thought that we should let you in on some of our event preparations…

We love to keep things organic and natural – working with silks and cotton fibers, local seamstresses and European mills. We believe in carrying this concept into every aspect of the studio… especially in our love for food!

This post is dedicated to our lovely friends who kept things fresh and tasty during our summer preview.

Our chef on the day was Charlene Grech… a great friend and even greater chef! It took days of long consideration to create a menu using as much fresh and local produce as possible. We take freshness very seriously, to the extent that Charlene personally hand picked all of the herbs and most of the yummy veggies from the fields of our local veggie farm :).

The menu included crostini with local broad beans, sugar snap peas, fresh mint and chive flowers, topped with salty parmesan shavings. Another of her tasty treats was a magical pistachio and red pepper salad with creamy feta cheese. And the freshest of all was a classic Gazpacho with sweet Maltese tomatoes, peppers and lots of fresh herbs, topped with local goats cheese.

Adding to this delicious feast were some nibbles, including a juicy beetroot and mint dip to go with the sponsored sunset refreshments, perfect for summer.

Phillipe Martinet Fine Wines provided us with a summery Miraval Rose and Sorelle Bronca Prosecco. The Miraval, a blush pink Rose wine (which matched perfectly with our summer colours), is an Organic wine created by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, in collaboration with Chateau Beaucastel.

Unveiling our latest creations for the first time was a beautiful experience that was only amplified by the delicious flavours of local, organic food and carefully selected drinks, which turned out to be the perfect accompaniment to our new collection.
